The Ragusa Hub International Youth Center was officially opened in Belgrade on June 2, marking the launch of a new platform for youth cooperation between the Balkan region and BRICS+ countries.
The center was established with the support of the Gorchakov Fund and the World Youth Festival Directorate. Its activities will focus on educational, scientific, cultural and social initiatives led by young people from the Balkans and BRICS+ countries.

The opening ceremony was attended by Alexander Konanikhin, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Serbia; Leonid Drachevsky, Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund; Yevgeny Baranov, Director of the Russian House in Belgrade; and Dmitry Ivanov, Director General of the World Youth Festival Directorate. Representatives of the academic community, civil society organizations and youth associations from the Balkans and Russia also took part in the event.

In his welcoming address, Vladan Grbović, President of the Ragusa organization, emphasized that the new center is intended to serve as an open space for dialogue, the exchange of experience and the development of joint international initiatives in the fields of science, education, culture and public diplomacy.

Holding one of the region’s established international youth forums immediately after the center’s opening represents a strong beginning for Ragusa Hub and highlights its role as a platform for meaningful dialogue and the joint exploration of solutions to contemporary challenges in international cooperation.
Going forward, Ragusa Hub is expected to become an important meeting place for young leaders, researchers and social activists from across the region, providing opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange and the development of new international partnerships.
